Parent Information
Communication
Our main method of communication is through monthly newsletters which are e-mailed and also available in hard copy. It is the parent's responsibility to collect the information. It is very important to have an accurate email address on file as we also send additional reminders and updates via email.
Tuition
Tuition, based on a yearly course fee, is divided into 9 monthly payments. Monthly payments are due the first week of every month. Tuition not paid by the 10th of the month will be charged a $5.00 late fee. Multiple class and family discounts are available. Full year and bi-year payments receive an additional discount. The Sam Smith Special allows students taking three hours of dance per week to take a fourth class free of charge. For detailed tuition information, check out our 2019-2020 brochure.
Costume Fees
Costume fees are due by November 15. Payment must be separate from tuition payment. Shoes and tights are not included in the costume fee and are the student's responsibility. There may be additional costs for accessories. A costume will not be ordered for any student who has not fully paid by December 15th. Late payments are charged a $10 late fee per costume. Costume fees are non-refundable once ordered.
Observation Day
The two observation days each season are held the first class of the months November and March. Please limit observers to 2 persons per student. Please be considerate of the dancers by limiting noise and interaction while observing.
Absenteeism
There are no refunds for missed or cancelled classes. Make-ups will be available in some classes until recital dances are started, however, regular attendance is most rewarding. Consistent absenteeism will result in omission from the recital.
Parking
Designated parking for the Sam Smith School of Dance is located in the rear parking lot.
Snow Closings
A message will be left on the studio answering machine two hours prior to class as to snow closings. You may also watch television stations WGRZ 2 and WKBW 7.
